It is imperative get local manufacturers on board, if one wants to really conquer a market. Global hardware leaders may have all the technical knowhow in the world, but they can rarely match local vendors in evaluating what the public demands.
Luckily, this is one fact that Microsoft is well aware of, as the company signed up several new Windows Phone hardware partners in some of the biggest emerging markets of the world.
And now we are starting to see what these companies are cooking up.
Micromax, one of the bigger vendors in India is preparing a Windows Phone 8.1 handset that packs some notably powerful hardware inside — a Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB via the included microSD Card slot.
Throw in a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, full HD 1080p, of course, with a 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel shooter on the front, with a 2600 mAh battery, and you got yourself a package.
Outright $425 is a price that is just out of this world.
In case you are wondering, these details have been leaked by @LeakstersInc, the same source that leaked details of the Motorola E before it was made official in India, so it is adequately reliable.
Complete details, including the name, should be with us ahead of the official launch, which is slated for July this year. But it is refreshing to see a new powerful flagship, instead of just budget Windows Phone smartphones that have been making the rounds recently.
On the onset, this sounds like a great addition to the family.
